Yogi was always so full of life and happy to do anything as long as he was with my husband or I. He would go out in the yard and follow us around or watch us work in the garage. He loved stealing our beers when he got the chance and then look at us as if to say "well you didn't bring me mine so I took yours". Yogi loved to go up north with us on vacation, he always looked forward to going to the lake so he could get wet with us. He was such a funny boy, with his antics he could make us laugh till we cried and our sides felt like they would burst. Yogi was a teacher to all the dogs in our house and made sure they followed the house rules never letting anyone get out of line. He loved everyone he had ever met in his life and everyone loved him, he just had that effect on people. Yogi always loved going to the shows with me to visit his grandma Chris and grandpa Gene. Thank you so much Chris and Gene for allowing us to share our life with such a wonderfully great boy. He was our heart and soul. Yogi made our house what it is, so full of life and comedy. He had a love for life and it showed in everything he did and every person he touched. Yogi was a fighter, probably one of the strongest hearted dogs I know when it came to life. He fought hard until the end, tail still wagging and with that smile that he always had on his face. Yogi gave everything he had to our family and we will treasure him always.
He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him, but he will never be forgotten. You are forever in our hearts Yogi Bear, we all love you.

I remember an 8 week old puppy full of spunk and pizzazz with the attitude of a future show dog........and a show dog he did become! He was a natural in the ring, like he had been born for just that reason. The years to follow were the best, we made new friends, got to see old friends and showing was so much fun. Everytime I would start loading the van, Vin was ready to go. He loved and lived for hitting the road to go to the next show. He was a character of sorts, so much so that when you would call him over the very first thing he would do is roll on his back, spread eagle, then look at you, squint his eyes and smile at you with that big berner smile. Smarts were something he had a lot of, he completed his obedience classes and learned many tricks that my husband had thought to teach him with little time and effort. He had most things down pat within minutes of being introduced to them.
I would like to say thank you to Chris for taking us under her wing and teaching me to show him, as well as showing him the first few years of his show career when I didn't have a clue as to what I was doing and when I was too nervous to go in front of all those people to do it.
Bubbaloo, you will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved you. One day we will meet up again my friend and I will once again be able to put my arms around you to give you the hugs you loved so much. Thank you for the great ride my friend, it was a blast and I am sorry that it is over all too soon.

BK's Born To Be A Starr (aka "Starr")
June 4, 2007 - June 11, 2010
Leukemia, Diabetes and Hip Dysplaysia
Owned by: Kelly, Brian and Amanda Weir
Starr was like her dad in so many ways, including being a trooper the year and a half she spent battling Leukemia and Diabetes. She was the clown that always made you laugh until you cried and your stomach hurt. She was a fighter and like her dad she lived for us. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do when asked, she was smart, a problem solver (just like her dad). She would open the refrigerator, pull the stove door open (when not in use), open the storm door and could open any baby gate in the house! Her absolute favorite thing to do was to grocery shop in the refrigerator though, she would open the door and knew right where I kept her food and snacks since they were hers and hers alone. Starr would then help herself to the things I had for her in there and when I would come in I would ask the kids why they left the fridge door open, of course they would tell me it wasn't them. One day I watched from outside and there was Starr, pulling open the fridge door and helping herself to her food, so the mystery of the open fridge door was solved!
I allowed Starr to get away with a lot, when she was diagnosed she was given 4-6 months of life expectancy, she made it a year and a half. Quite a milestone in my book, so why shouldn't I have let her enjoy life to it's fullest. Our last big hoorah was at the National Specialty in 2010. She felt okay to go in the ring the day I showed her and she enjoyed the time we had together that week even though most days she didn't feel well while we were there. It was when we got back she went downhill fast, almost like she was waiting for that last big hoorah to go out with a bang and in style. The coming weeks after we got back were hard, it was a constant battle to try to get her to eat and many trips to the vet to try different medications or see where we could go from there. After 2 weeks of not eating enough to equal to 1 normal daily meal she would have eaten in the past, we called Linda Thomas to see what she was feeling and how to proceed. It came as a shock to me when Linda conveyed to me that Starr wanted to leave, she couldn't fight anymore and that she always felt so sick, Starr told Linda she was ready to go and was just waiting on us. How do you deny a dog the right to their voice when there is a way to know how they feel or what they need or want? You DON'T! So Linda let her know I would make the appointment for her and it would soon be over.......that is the hardest thing I have ever had to hear in my life from one of my "fur kids" and follow through with, with the others they told me as they declined so fast and I just knew in their eyes, but Starr.....she was always happy no matter what and wouldn't let us know she was suffering....until Linda talked to her and she was able to tell us what she needed and wanted........she lived for us. We miss her terribly!
Rest in peace sweet Baby Starr. I am sure your dad and uncle Yogi are taking good care of you up there. Just know that we miss you terribly and we love you and always will! The house is so different without you here and your sister misses you something terrible. She lays everywhere you laid! So until we meet again sweet girl, be good up there and lots of hugs to you from all of us.
