About Us
My husband and I have been involved in Bernese Mountain Dogs since 1998 and Great Pyrenees since 2009. Our dogs are first and foremost part of our family, we have a strong passion for these breeds that have stolen our hearts and encourage anyone interested in either breed to research it well before running out and buying a puppy because of their beauty. There is more to a dog breed than just their beauty.
We show our dogs in Conformation as it is a great event where our dogs and us become one as a team working together and have fun while in the ring. Currently we are working on learning Drafting with our dogs. My husband and I also enjoy vacationing with our dogs and our children.
Our goal as a breeder is to improve on the Temperament, Health, Orthopedics and Longevity of the breed, all of our dogs are health tested through OFA (Orthopedic Foundation For Animals) before any breeding decisions are made. We are very passionate about this breed, therefore our breeding decisions are based on pedigree research of the stud dogs and females we consider using in our breeding program to help reduce the risks of doubling up on any health issues that may be in the pedigree and/or to try and correct it. Our selection process of potential homes consists of interviewing Potential Puppy Owners and what each of them is looking for in a puppy, then when puppies have been evaluated at 8 weeks of age we match up the best puppy to that family's lifestyle and needs. Then and only then will we take deposits for a puppy placement. Puppies are not promised to anyone before the 8 week evaluations have been completed and/or the breeder and Stud Dog owner have chosen their puppy as the Stud Fee Puppy or Puppy back out of a certain breeding.
Our puppies are never placed based on comparison of markings or personalities alone, our puppies are placed based on what the Potential Puppy Owner is seeking in Temperament, Structure, Personality and Markings. Each puppies Temperament and Personality are discussed with PPO's to see which puppy best matches their lifestyle and needs. This assures us that each of our puppies are getting the best possible home as we are very serious about the placement of our puppies and how they continue to do throughout their lives.
All of our companion puppies are placed on spay/neuter non-breeding contracts only.
As breeders we are there for the life of our dogs as well as the puppies owners, we welcome questions and encourage our owners to join the their local clubs, the National club, and the email lists that are available to Bernese and Pyrenees owners. Please feel free to browse our site and ask any questions you may have by email or by phone and we will be happy to answer them.
